Fine Silver Sea Urchin Pendant with a Cape May Diamond Drop
Fine Silver Sea Urchin Pendant with a Cape May Diamond Drop
Richly detailed, hand cast, fine silver sea urchin pendant with with a natural Cape May Diamond drop on an 18 inch sterling silver chain. This was created using a cast I made from a real sea urchin that I found on the beach. The Cape May Diamond is naturally tumbled by the sea and collected by me on one of my daily beach walks. It is not machine tumbled. A real treasure!
Sea urchin is approximately 3/4 inch in diameter. You will receive the exact piece of jewelry in the photo.
Cape May Diamonds are bits of quartz that have broken off of rocks high up in the Delaware River. They are tumbled smooth by the water and sand (just as sea glass is) as they make their way down the Delaware River to land on Sunset Beach in Cape May. It is said that the Native Americans used these 'gems' for trade.
