Fine Silver Sand Dollar Pendant with a Cape May Diamond Drop
Fine Silver Sand Dollar Pendant with a Cape May Diamond Drop
Fine silver sand dollar pendant with a Cape May Diamond drop on an 18 inch sterling silver chain. This hand cast, richly detailed sand dollar was created using a cast I made from a real sand dollar that I found on the beach. A beautiful treasure to remind you of the wonders of the ocean!
Each Cape May Diamond is naturally tumbled by the sea and collected by me on my daily beach walks.
Sand dollar is approximately I inch across.
Cape May Diamonds are bits of quartz that have broken off of rocks high up in the Delaware River. They are tumbled smooth by the water and sand (just as sea glass is) as the make their way down the Delaware River to land on Sunset Beach in Cape May. It is said that the Native Americans used these 'gems' for trade.
This Cape May diamond has not been tumbled or polished other than by the sea. Slight imperfections in the stone are to be expected and are proof that it is a natural Cape May Diamond. Stone, shell and coral props are not included.
